Recap
Scottish Highland Football Under 18 League – East, Huntly v Fraserburgh, Monday 14th November 2022
The Broch youngsters got off to the worst possible start when Lucas Sey burst through in the second minute and was tripped by Sam Inglis. The Huntly striker got up and dusted himself down before dispatching the spot-kick into the net. On 16 minutes Callum Kelly was played through on goal but George Ritchie did well to save, Stuart Laird picked up the rebound only to see his shot cleared off the line and when Kelly recovered the loose ball his shot cannoned off the post to safety.
Eight minutes later Laird had an effort from 12 yards well saved by Ritchie at the second attempt. A minute after that Ross Taylor fizzed in a shot which was just too high. Inglis redeemed himself on 37 minutes when he tipped over a 20 yard drive from Daryl Webster. Two minutes before the break good work by Dylan Robertson set up Taylor who sliced his shot wide of goal from a good position.
Half Time: Huntly 1 Fraserburgh 0
Taylor found his way into the referee’s notebook on 54 minutes but six minutes later good harrying by the Broch forward set up a chance for Nicol Dall which the Huntly defence managed to clear away. Ricky Milne was booked on 62 minutes for a foul on Scott Cameron and from the resultant free-kick swung in by Ethan Walker Webster rose high to nod the ball into the net.
Joshua Hawkins set up a chance for Laird on 69 minutes which was saved again by the impressive Ritchie in the home goal. Inglis had to move smartly on 86 minutes to turn over a drive by Zander Zvegintzov and right at the death Taylor created a chance for Dall but once again it was saved by the Huntly keeper.
