Scottish Highland Football Under 18 League – East, Fraserburgh v Inverurie Loco Works, Monday 3rd October 2022

The young Broch made a customary fast start on 8 minutes when a corner was cleared straight to Stuart Laird who curled a magnificent effort into the top corner past Archie Stephen.

The home side were forced into an early change when captain Ross Taylor went off injured on 24 minutes being replaced by Joshua Hawkins.

Locos were adapting to the poor weather conditions better than the home side and Smith brought out a good save from Cummings on 55 minutes. Two minutes later Laird’s ball forward to Lennon Hastie saw the Broch youngster screw his shot wide.

On the hour Fraser Reid headed over from a good position for the visitors. Locos did take the lead midway through the second half though when Stephen Peters got on the end of a back post corner to nod home. Morgan Conway stung the hands on Cummings in the home goal late on as the Harlaw Park men looked for a third goal.
