Scottish Highland Football Under 18 League – East, Fraserburgh v Deveronvale, Monday 31st October 2022

Vale youngsters took the lead in the second minute when Sam Inglis misjudged a cross from Jake Watt which dropped into the net. It got worse for the home side on 8 minutes when Jack Sutherland hammered home a shot from 35 yards which flew past Inglis into the top corner.

On 21 minutes it was 0-3 when Taylor Barron raced onto a through ball behind the Broch defence and fired home via the post. Callum Kelly pulled a goal back five minutes later curling the ball beyond Curtis West in the visitor’s goal. Two minutes before the break Vinnie Ingleby swept home a Stuart Laird free kick from the right to reduce the deficit further.

The young Broch picked up from where they left off with Ricky Milne seeing his 25 yarder deflected wide. Three minutes into the second half Laird was tripped inside the box and Kelly made no mistake from the spot kick to level the score.

On 68 minutes Dylan Robertson went close to giving the home side the lead with a 25 yarder which flew just wide. With a minute left the home side completed a fantastic comeback when Ross Taylor headed home Flynn McKay’s corner. In injury time Ethan Durno went close with a free kick which Inglis watched fly past his left hand post.
