Ton up for Ryan and Joe

Congratulations to Joe Barbour and Ryan Sargent who both made their 100th Appearances in the game against Banks O Dee.

Joe made his debut at Allan Park, Cove on Wednesday 30th March 2011 and has had to be very patient to get a run in the team but has pretty much made the number 1 jersey his own in the past two season.

Ryan made his debut on Wednesday 12th April 2017 at home to Buckie Thistle and scored his first goal away to Fort William on Saturday 9th September of the same year. Ryan has scored 26 goals in his 100 appearances.

Well done to both Joe and Ryan, and here’s to many more.

Marc Lawrence pens Bellslea deal

Fraserburgh Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Marc Lawrence on an initial 6 month deal. Marc had been a free agent since returning from the USA recently and played as a trialist in last Saturday’s match against Deveronvale, coming off the bench in the second half.

The 24 year old midfielder will add strength and depth to Mark Cowie’s options in that area with his box to box running and eye for a goal. Of course Marc is no stranger to Broch fans having had two previous loan spells from Peterhead FC. Overall he has made 60 appearances for the Broch to date scoring 11 times, including four during our Scottish Cup run in 2015/16.

Everyone at Fraserburgh FC wishes Marc all the best for his future in a black and white shirt.

One in One Out at Bellslea

Fraserburgh FC are delighted to announce the signing of 23 year-old striker Josh Bolton from North Region Premier League side Aberdeen East End on a two and a half year deal.

The young forward has previous Highland League experience with Keith and Inverurie Loco Works and like Connor Wood, who also made switch from East End to the Broch, Josh has been instrumental in the junior sides Scottish Cup run this season and keeping them in the Premier League title hunt having only suffered one defeat so far.

Manager, Mark Cowie was looking to add to his attacking options and Josh will provide excellent competition in that department. Everyone at Fraserburgh FC wishes Josh all the best in a Broch shirt.

Heading out is Paul Campbell who has agreed to make the switch to Formartine United. Paul has been with the Broch since 2015/16 ironically making his debut against the Pitmedden side. His first goal came in a 4-0 win at Lossiemouth in the League Cup and he amassed 128 goals in 225 games, having made the step up from Junior football himself.

During Paul’s time with Fraserburgh FC he was a huge part of the title winning squad last season and won 3 Aberdeenshire Cup winner’s medals and 2 Aberdeenshire Shield winner’s medals, netting doubles in both the 2019/20 Shield Final and the 2020/21 Cup Final.

Everyone at Fraserburgh FC wishes Paul all the best for the future, apart from the next couple of matches!!

Watt signs contract extension

Fraserburgh FC are delighted to announce another of their talented youngsters has put pen to a contract extension. Logan Watt has agreed a deal which will see him continue in a black and white shirt until at least the summer of 2024. The young midfielder has featured 26 times this season netting on 5 occasions including an acrobatic effort against Turriff United.

The former Aberdeen Youth player made his debut against Wick Academy in July 2019 and notched his first goal for the club against Lossiemouth in February 2022. He now totals 55 appearances & 9 goals overall and has the ability to be a real creative force in the Broch midfield, manager Mark Cowie is especially happy to have him on board for the next 19 months.

Broch secure nap hand of contract extensions

Fraserburgh Football Club are delighted to announce that Paul Young, Ryan Cowie, William West and Zane Laird have agreed to renew their contracts until the summer of 2025 with Scott Barbour extending his contract until the summer of 2028.

Paul, Ryan, Willie and Scott were an integral part of last season’s Championship winning side whilst Zane has stepped up to the first team squad this season and netted his first goal for the club in the win at Strathspey Thistle back in August. Manager, Mark Cowie was keen to get all five to commit their futures to the club and was highly delighted that they did so.

Paul Young joined the club in the summer of 2017 from Turriff United and is homing in on 200 appearances for the Broch. He is seen as one of the most complete midfielders in the Highland League and has notched 32 goals to date.

Ryan also joined the club from Turriff United just over ten years ago and has become a mainstay at left back with over 300 matches behind him. His threat from set piece deliveries always makes him one to watch and he has bagged 27 goals for the club. Sadly, injuries have blighted this season for him so far but hopefully he is nearing full fitness again.

Scott’s exploits at the club need no introduction. 219 goals in 310 games to date and that doesn’t take into account his time away at Formartine United!! Last season Scott was named Highland League Player of the Year which was a fitting accolade on his contribution to the title success. There has been no let up this season with another 18 goals scored, including last Saturday’s winner against Buckie Thistle.

Willie’s contribution to the Broch over the last 19 years cannot be understated. Club captain, winner of multiple honours including lifting the League trophy against Forres Mechanics and now third behind Billy Gordon and Jimmy Young with 620 appearances for the club. He has also notched 164 goals which makes him fifth in the all-time goalscorers list only four behind Graham Johnston in fourth place.

At the other end of the spectrum Zane is just starting out on his first team career. He has come through the ranks and been a prolific scorer in the U18 and U21 teams. His goals this season are one of the big reasons the U21s are top of the GPH Builders Merchants Aberdeenshire League after six matches. He is definitely one to watch for the future.

Player Milestones – Logan Watt & Callum Kelly

Congratulations to Logan Watt who made his 50th appearance for the club in the 4-1 victory against Huntly on Wednesday night. The former Aberdeen Youth player who made his debut for the club against Wick Academy in July 2019 has featured regularly this season and has notched 8 goals in total including two in the League win at Turriff in October, one of which was a superb acrobatic effort. Logan who is only 19 has a great future ahead of him and hopefully many more appearances/goals in a black and white shirt.

Also belated congratulations to Callum Kelly who made his first team debut for the Broch in the recent Scottish Cup win over Stranraer, as a late substitute. Callum, who only turned 17 last month, has joined up with the first team squad after impressing in the U18s and U21s this season. The former Montrose Youth player has been banging in the goals with increasingly regularity and notched another brace in the 4-3 comeback win over Deveronvale U18s last Monday night. I’m sure it won’t be long before he gets his first goal at senior level.
