Friendly, Fraserburgh v Aberdeen East End, Saturday 2nd July 2022
The Broch played their final pre-season friendly against Aberdeen junior side East End at a very wet Bellslea Park. The home side went ahead through Ryan Sargent after five minutes and the same player netted on 22 minutes after combining with Lewis Duncan. The aforementioned Duncan then made it 3-0 on the half hour when he crashed home a shot from the edge of the area.
After the break substitute Sean Butcher nodded home a Scott Barbour corner on the hour. Barbour then helped himself to a goal from the penalty spot on 75 minutes after Zane Laird had been wiped out by an East End defender. The young Broch striker got on the scoresheet himself two minutes later tapping home from close range after Willie West’s effort had been blocked by the visitor’s keeper.
All in all a good workout for the home side who can now look forward to the Premier Sports Cup matches against Kilmarnock, Montrose, Stenhousemuir & Partick Thistle with excitement and relish.
