Scott Barbour’s second goal in tonight’s 4-2 victory over Strathspey Thistle was his 200th for the club over two spells. Fig as he’s more commonly known actually made his debut for the club against Clachnacuddin in the final match of the 2008/09 season. After a short time away Kris Hunter signed Scott at the start of the 2011/12 season and he netted his first goal in a 3-3 draw at Huntly.
His goalscoring exploits over four campaigns earned Scott a move to Formartine United to be reunited with Kris at the start of the 2015/16 season and whilst he bagged his fair share of goals for the North Lodge Park side he returned “home” at the beginning of the 2018/19 season. Overall Scott has made 277 appearances for the Broch and averages a goal every 1.4 games, a fantastic return.
He is now only 10 goals behind club legend Davie Robertson (210) and 37 behind our all time leading goalscorer Michael Stephen (237). Well done Fig here’s hoping for many more goals in the Black and White.
