Spectator Toilets, Turnstiles and Match Officials Room Update

After a hugely successful fund-raising appeal, we are delighted to say that the upgrade to the Male & Female Spectators Toilets, new Turnstiles and Match Officials dressing room will begin next week.

We must thank the generosity of the public who raised around £9,000. That was an accumulation of the Just Giving Page and a number of individuals who handed in donations directly.

There was also a £3,000 donation from the Fraserburgh FC Supporters Club for which we are truly grateful. We have always said that we have the best supporters in the league and this goes to prove how right we are.

It has been very humbling to see the good will and support from the community in what has been, and continues to be, a very trying time for everyone.

We were also delighted to learn that we have been approved to receive a grant of up to £5,000 from the Scottish Football Partnership. Our thanks go to Stuart McCaffrey of the SFP for his help and assistance with the completion of the grant application.

The work will be carried out by Andrew May Building Contractors.

More Youngsters in at Broch

With the new season, hopefully, almost upon us, our we have added some youngsters to the U17’s side. It hasn’t been decided when the Highland Youth League U17’s will kick off but it is anticipated it will be around the same time as the 1st Team.

We welcome to the club, Andrew Buchan, Mason Christie, Jack Cowie, Daniel Ferguson, Liam Gibb, Aidan MacRae, Adam McKenzie,  Connor Napier, Dylan Price and Joe Selman.

Stick in lads, the hard work starts now.

Lewis Duncan signs on at Bellslea

This week we signed Lewis Duncan from Aberdeen FC. Lewis (18) has been at Aberdeen for four years and we are delighted to have him join us at Bellslea Park.

We look forward to seeing Lewis in the Black & White Stripes of his home town team.

Alex Noble

With the kind permission of his family, it is with deep sadness that we announce the sad passing of one of our own, Alex Noble (Scooter). Alex celebrated his 63rd Birthday only yesterday.

Alex has been an active member of our committee for many years and loved nothing more than spending time at the football with his wee pal, his Grandson Scott.

The attached picture is of both of them the day we played Rangers in the Scottish Cup. An occasion that Alex was extremely proud to be part of, seeing his beloved Rangers play his equally beloved Broch at Bellslea Park.

Alex was a decent footballer in his day, scoring many goals for Fraserburgh Utd and very successful seasons in the Amatuer League, mainly with Redburn.

Alex will be a huge miss to his family, many friends and of course the club.

Our heartfelt condolences go to the family.

Young Stars Signed Up

Mark Cowie has extended the contracts of promising youngsters Jordan Smith, Ross Grant and Tyler Chicken. Both Ross and Tyler showed up well in the U20’s matches and did well with their respective junior clubs, Fraserburgh Utd and Maud. Jordan however has been out for a year with a knee injury but will be raring to go once the new season is upon us.

We have also signed Youth Players, Ross Cow, Jake Ritchie, Liam Morrison and Callum Watson on Professional Contracts having impressed in the Youths. The hard work starts now for these guys and we hope to see them knocking on the door of the First Team.

Scott Henry Returns to Bellslea

Scott Henry, who was at the Broch on loan from Formartine Utd in the later stages of season 2016/17 has agreed to join on a permanent deal.

We are delighted to have Scott back as he was a popular player both on and off the park during his four months with the Broch. Scott made 9 appearances and scoring 3 goals.

Welcome back to the club Scott.

Broch Players to forego wages

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank our Players and Management for taking the decision that during the Covid 19 shutdown they will not take any wages.

Further to that, they have told the club they are handing back their payments for the month of March and to put that money into the club’s Youth Development Programme.

Money is undoubtedly tight in our level of football and at this unprecedented time it is even more so. We sincerly thank our Players and Management for this generous offer and while I am extremely biased, I do believe we have a tremendous family spirit at the club, second to none.

We hope all our supporters are in good health during this difficult time. Please keep following the government guidelines to ensure we get football back to Bellslea Park as soon as it is safe to do so.

We will return to the new season ready, whatever that may look like, but our first priority at the moment is looking out for each other.

Come awa the Broch !!
